Description

The Soap Bubble Neubula is a planetary nebula with an almost perfectly spherical shape, similar to Abell 39. Its delicate blue tone in OIII contrasts against the background of dust and HII emission. It is a very low brightness object. I obtained the image with HII and OIII filters in bin x2 plus drizzle ,and the stars in RGB. The photos of this nebula that I knew showed a delicate and transparent structure, but during processing my image gained unexpected strength and contrast. The central star has a J-band magnitude of 19.45.  It is visible as a small, faint blue dot exactly in the center of the sphere.
